Does the Great South Bay have a Leak?

Many South Shore residents are waking up to dry canals this morning due to the strong northerly winds, low tide and a pressure system over Long Island.  These weather factors are creating a rare phenomenon of pushing the water out of the canals and into the Great South Bay. Once the winds and weather system passes, water levels will return. These photos were added to a news brief and posted into the Fire Island News Facebook Newsfeed —— it broke the internet (or at least was one of the more popular posts with community comments)!
