Bono, Preacher and Psalms 40

One of my favorite writers is American Theologian Eugene H. Peterson (1932-2018). A few years back I was searching the web, youtube and Amazon.com for a good read on Christian Faith and came across several books by the Presbyterian minister. After reviewing his body of work on Amazon, I selected Run with the Horses: The Quest for Life at its Best. As I continued to research the writer’s life and influences, I discovered several videos on how his writing was impactful to Bono. Yes, BONO of U2! I have been a U2 fanboy for over 40 years and knew the political undertones of their music, but learning the depth of Bono’s Christian faith was astounding. Below is a short documentary of Eugene and Bono discussing faith, The Psalms and the song “40.” At the bottom for the non-U2 listeners is my favorite version of “40”.
